The other day I wrote an e-mail to my old art teacher, Ms. Irvin, to see if she needed any help in the art room. The next day she said,”Sure, any day… is great!” So today I’m going to help out. I don’t know what I’m going to do there, but I am excited to be helping Ms. Irvin. My Mom and I are also taking a bike ride to the library, to pick up a book that I have on hold.
Tomorrow my Dad’s uncle Terry is coming to Colorado. He’s going to help us fix the concrete by the pool filter, because it’s all messed up. I haven’t met him before, so I’m kind of interested in meeting him. I have no clue how long he’s staying, but I hope he’s nice. I look forward to the next two days, and I hope to have a good time.
This weekend wasn’t that busy, but I did have fun. Friday after I got my work done, my family and I had to get shots (shrug). I only had to get two but my dad got three, and my Mom got four! We got these shots since we are going to travel to different countries. When we got home we all did our own thing. My Mom was in the kitchen, my Dad on the computer, and I was chillin on the couch. Since it was snowing a lot that night we didn’t do much.
Saturday was definitely a lazy day, the snow turned into rain and I was all about staying inside. All I did was play Wii, watch movies, and surf on the computer. Around 7pm I finally got out of the house. Meryl and I saw He’s just not that into you. I thought it was pretty good and it was funny.
Sunday, after breakfast it turned out to be really nice outside, so my Mom, Lucy, and I took a walk. Later after lunch I went to my friend Annelise’s house and we played a weird game that you can’t put a name to, and I was there ’till my Mom called me home for dinner. After dinner I went over to Meryl and Meredith’s and I had a quiz for them to see how well we new each other, it was kind of funny trying to see Meryl answer some of the questions. When I got back home we watched a Family Guy episode and then I went to bed and had peaceful dreams.
For all the people that were looking for yesterday’s movie review, I was busy working on other stuff, so I’m going to make up for that today.
Bride Wars is a movie about two best friends that have loved weddings since early childhood. It all started when their mothers took them out for tea at the Plaza Hotel when a wedding was happening there, and ever since then they couldn’t wait to grow up and have their weddings there. When their days came they both got engaged and they thought they had every thing perfect until their wedding planer accidentally scheduled their weddings on the same day. That’s when the BRIDE WARS started!!!!
I thought this movie wasn’t very good because it was really cheesy acting. I was kind of disappointed by Anne Hathaway(one of the main characters), she is one of my favorite actresses and she didn’t do so well. Bride Wars is a good movie for people that like cheesy acting and people who enjoy making cheese fondue out of the DVD.
Wow, it’s really sinking in that this year IS the year we are going to be leaving. We’ve packed up a lot of our stuff up and my Dad has been taking quite a few loads down to my Ah-ma’s (my grandma) house. It’s kind of scary but at the same time I’m really excited that we are going to do it this year. We are also trying to clear stuff off the walls and get the house ready for showing. Since I’ve been trying to warn my friends about it, the other day I told Meredith that it was really going to happen this year, and she got all teary eyed and said,”Really? I’m going to miss you so much!”. It was really sad seeing her cry and I know that they won’t only miss me, I’m going to miss them too! Since we have a pool in the back yard, we are going to try and open it as soon as possible so the people that come and look at the house will get the whole effect on the “awesome back yard thing”. It’s cool that one of the places we are going to after the house sells is Indonesia and right now I’m doing a project on Indonesia. It’s taking a long time to finish, it kinda sucks! Well, I just wanted to give you an update on what’s been going on around here, and that it going to happen soon…..hopefully!
It’s the days everyone looks forward to, the weekend! On Friday I went to my friend Annelise’s birthday party. We didn’t do much at first, but after she opened her presents, we all started having fun. Her Mom got her a few karaoke CDs and I got her a book called The Double-Daring Book For Girls, it’s a book of random fun girl things to do and I would kinda like to have one too. The karaoke was fun for all of us and I could tell that it was a good present. Later that night I had to baby sit for our neighbors down the street, so I had to leave the party early.
On Saturday I cleaned my room because it had been getting a little messy. While I was cleaning I found some stuff that I could pack away since we’re moving soon. When I was done with my room, I went back to Annelise’s house to play for awhile.
Sunday morning I found my Easter eggs and ate lots of candy. We went out for breakfast, but when we got back it was cold and rainy. We had to decide wether or not to go to the Rockies game. I wanted to go because it was opening weekend, but my Dad didn’t want to go because it was too cold and wet for him. It ended up just my Mom and I going, so we bundled up and were out the door in no time. When we got there, we met up with our neighbors and it was cool being in a big group. The Rockies didn’t win, but I was glad we got to go. When I got home I chilled with my homiez, Meryl and Meredith.
On the day of her wedding, Susan was hit by a meteorite from outer space. After the acident she turned into a giant human. The government thinks she’s a monster, so they took her to a secret government hiding place. There, she met the other monsters that had been captured over the years.
While she’s stuck in the “monster jail”, there was another thing that landed on earth from outer space….. the ALIENS! The president called the “monster jail” and asked the monsters to help destroy the aliens!!
I like this movie because its funny and it’s full of action. Seth Rogen, one of my favorite actors, plays a voice in the movie. Monsters vs. Aliens is a good movie for younger kids, but I think anyone who likes animation would enjoy this movie.
Yesterday my uncle asked if I wanted to go to the Denver Zoo. I wasn’t quite sure because it was a weekday and I didn’t know if my Mom would let me go. She let me, but there was a catch. I had to pick ten animals from Southeast Asia, write a little bit about them, and take pictures of the animals. First was the Elephant. The elephants range from the Southern tip of China and Burma to Sumatra and part of Borneo, as well as part of India and Sri Lanka. Next, was the Hooded Pitta. You can see this beautiful bird in the forests from India to New Guinea. After that one we found the colorful White-eared Catbird. The Catbird lives in the forests of New Guinea. Later down the path was the Rhino. The rhinoceros use to be all around Africa and Southeastern Asia, but since 1992 the numbers have gone way down! When we came around the reptiles we found the Philippine Sailfin Lizard, and the Green Tree Monitor. These animals are found in New Guinea and northern Australia. We also found the Rat Snake, found in the rain forests of Sulawesi and Selayar, Indonesia. Next we found the Mudskipper. This little guy is found in man grove swamps from East Africa to Australia. At the end of our journey we came across the Siamese Crocodile and the Giant Hump-Headed Lizard. The crocodile can be found in the fresh water of Southeast Asia and in the Indonesian islands, and the lizard in the rain forests of Thailand and through Sumatra.
We were there for almost four hours with my uncle’s friends and one of them had a whole bunch of kids with her. My favorite animal out of the whole Zoo would have to be… either the cheetah or the polar bear. The cheetah because when it looked at me it’s eyes were bright big yellow eyes, or the polar bear because I was sitting right next to a piece of it’s food, and when it came to get the food he/she got super close to the glass. When we got back I was straight to dance class, the class was horrible, but at least I had a good time at the Zoo.
Monday, my friend Daniella called to see if I could hang out for a while. We were down stairs in her basement playing Candyland, when we got the idea of her spending the night at my house. We called our parents and they didn’t mind at all,so we packed her stuff and we were off to my house. We painted nails, played some game, you know all that girly stuff and went to bed. In the morning we ate breakfast and around noon I took Daniella home after our fun time.
Tuesday afternoon I had plans to hang out with my friend Kylie, and then spend the night. We went to the movie theater and saw Inkheart. After the movie we went to Kylie’s house and played with our Littlest Pets, then watched Princess Diaries. In the morning Kylie’s mom, Jen, made an awesome purse for my Mom and I made a hemp necklace. The next day was my Mom’s birthday and I wasn’t going to be there, so I decided it would be cool to make her something.
When I got back from Kylie’s I went to see Monster’s vs Aleins with Meryl. When I came home I chilled on the couch with my family, and packed for snowboarding the next day!
Thursday and Friday Meryl and I went snowboarding at Breckenridge and Keystone. At Breck, we did quite a few runs and went to relax in the hotel’s hot tub and pool around 2:30pm. That night Meryl and I also saw I Love You, Man and it was super funny. Friday morning we woke up really early and got to Keystone right when the lifts were opening. Meryl and I were so excited we were ready to go blazin down the mountain. It was cool because the first few runs there weren’t many people,so we could go as fast and take as much room as we wanted. It was so FUN! We left early to beat traffic. When we got home I wasn’t feeling so good. I had a stuffy nose and my body was sore from our long day, but I still had a totally fun filled Spring Break!
