Pablo

If you remember when I wrote the blog about my aunt coming I said that her bird was staying with us, that’s Pablo.  Pablo is a parrotlet  and he is six years old.  They are the smallest breed of parrots, even smaller than a parakeet.  Pablo only weighs about 24 grams!

Pablo can imitate lots of sounds.  One time I was playing Guitar Hero World Tour on the drums, he started to chirp to the beat.  He also imitates the sound of us putting the dishes away.  A cool thing Pablo can do, is he can say “pretty pretty”, but he hasn’t said it for us yet.:(

Pablo came from my Grandma Mary.  He learned most of the things he can do from her.  Pablo used to sit on her shoulder all the time when she was working on the computer.  When she was sad Pablo always put a smile on her face.  After my grandma past away, my aunt Laura has taken care of him.  Laura took him because she felt like a part of my grandma was in him.

When Laura found out that she was going to Spain, she didn’t know who to give Pablo to.  She wanted to give Pablo to someone that would play with him, not just leave him in stuck in his cage.  We have him now because she trusts us to take care of him like her or my grandma.

If you read my blog, “Donating Food to the Animal Shelter” you probably know that I had a dog named Rush.  My Dad got him at a pound in Florida.  He had Rush before my Mom and Dad even met!  Which means my Dad had him before I was born, so I grew up with Rush.  When Rush was outside in our backyard, every day he used to chase the shadows and the squirrels.  Rush literally felt like my brother.  Every night he used to walk down the hall and he would come jump up on my bed to sleep with me.  My parents and I called it ticka ticka ticka.(That was the sound he made coming down the hall)  Rush passed away on December 1st., 2006.  We had to put him to sleep because he was 14 and he was sick.  The last thing he ate that day was a bite of my Big Mac.  I miss Rush so much and I wish he could still be here.  R.I.P.

Donating Food to the Animal Shelter

A few weeks ago I helped my friend babysit her two cousins and I got ten dollars.  My Mom and I decided to go buy something at the pet store with it.  So we went to Petsmart and bought a 20lb. bag of dog food.  We took it to the Table  Mountain Animal Center.  The reason we took it to this animal shelter was because my old dog, Rush got put down there.:(  When we went inside the shelter,  I just pictured Rush’s face when he was being taken to the room.   Thank God it was busy, so we didn’t have to stay in for long.  When we got out I started to crying my eyes out.  It was really hard for me because my Dad had him before I was even born!  After a little bit I started to calm down and I noticed I did something really good for the animals.  I love animals so much and I wish every one of them could live, including Rush!:)

My cat Zoe

My cat Zoe is a female silver Persian.  She is 9 years old.  Zoe’s fur is gray, black, white, and brownish.  My dad bought Zoe for my mom.  Zoe’s face looks like their face got smashed by a car.  She pretty much lives in my room because her cat tower is  there and she likes to get on my bed to get away from Lucy.(my bed is one of those kind with the desk on the bottom and bed on top)  Zoe was born on Feb. 1, 1999. She’s pretty much like a sister to me because she screams and yells like one! :-)   Well I’ll write to all of you tomorrow.  Bye!!!

My Puppy Lucy

This is Lucy. She's a English Bulldog.

This is Lucy.  Lucy is a female English bulldog. She’s about to turn 2 years old on Saturday!!  Lucy’s fur is white with brown spots and she has beautiful brown eyes.  She knows tricks like sit, down, up, come, give me five, other five, and double five.  When Lucy was 6 months old she had a thing on her neck that was like a blister that kept on getting bigger every day, but we already got that fixed.  Lucy can’t have puppies but that was a hard decision for us make!!:-)  Now you know about my dog Lucy.  Next time I’ll tell you about Zoe, my cat!!
