I know, I know, I haven’t wrote in a long time, and that’s why I’m back. In the last 4 days we’ve got a lot of stuff done. Friday, my Mom and Terry started breaking up the concrete by the pool, and got it nice and crushed up. At 7 we went to the Rockies game, it was fun but they didn’t win. By the time we got home it was already pretty late, so I went straight to bed. On Saturday morning it was cloudy and wet, but my parents and Terry still laid the concrete by the pool. In the afternoon I went to my friend Morgan’s house. At 6 I went down the street to babysit. After our Sunday breakfast, we started working outside. My Mom had me paint the edges of the windows with this wood protection stuff. I can’t remember what else we did but I know we did something. On Monday it snowed so we couldn’t work outside. My Mom cooked most of the day, and I got stuck doing school work. I guess you could say it was a lazy day. Tuesday was totally different, it was warm and the snow was gone, so my family put the rock by the pool. It looks really nice. While they were outside working, I was inside working on school! When I got done with my work I was relived, I could go hang out with my friends. Later on Meryl, Meredith, and I walked to Starbucks, and then played basketball at the park. Although I had school the past 4 days weren’t that bad, I had fun.

Road trip? Road trip where? O.K, lets see if you can guess. My family and I are starting in Colorado, and going 1,083 miles through Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. If you haven’t got it yet we are going to… Indiana! You might think that it’s going to be “so much fun,” but in this case, not so much. We are going out there number one, because my great grandma is in the hospital, and number two my Mom’s biological father(my grandpa) just died last night. The thing is, my Mom hasn’t seen him in fifteen years, so it kind of sucks that it’s been that long and then the only time they contact her is when he dies.
When we are out there I hope to do something fun, like go to Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, so it’s not such a depressing trip. I’ll keep you updated from the road!

SPLASH!! Oh no, why, why??! I wish I could go back in time. I was pouring myself some lemonade, and then timber… there went my glass! It splashed all over the laptop. My day was going really good, and then I just had to spill it. Plus about a week ago I accidentally broke the power cord for the laptop, which I had to replace. My Dad is a total computer geek, I knew that he would freak out, unfortunately that’s what happened. I was wiping it off and the screen went blank. I really, really wish that I could go back, and at least move the computer.
My Dad had to take it apart three times, and after all that cleaning up the sticky mess inside, the speakers don’t work. I’m not sure what to do and how to make it up to him. I do know that I have learned my lesson- NEVER pour or have drinks by the laptop, and to BE GENTLE when handling them, so other parts don’t break!

On Saturday I did a program called Marine Biologist for a Day at the Downtown Aquarium. It was actually funner than I thought it was going to be. First, we chopped up a whole bunch of squid, shrimp, small fish, krill, and some green vitamins for fish food. I guess you could consider them cannibals for eating the small fish. I learned they needed vitamins, just like we do. Next we gave the food to the fish from above the tanks, where the visitors can’t see. The fish that we fed ranged from a few inches to a few feet. Just us kids got to wander around the aquarium for half an hour. After lunch we dissected a mackerel, YUMMY! Surprisingly it was kind of fun, I learned a lot about the parts of a fish, that I didn’t know before.
Our instructor said that he had a surprise for us. We got to touch a baby octopus! It really didn’t look like a baby though. The tentacles felt really cool, it was like a lot of little suction cups sticking to my fingers at once. Creepy, but at the same time awesome!
The coolest thing of the whole experience was that was we got to feed three sea turtles. We fed them fish, vitamins, lettuce, and green beans, we were super close. Just then I learned that sea turtles eat lettuce. I think it was a really, really cool experience. In the end I made a new friend and got her phone number. Over all I think it was worth the $50 that my parents payed.

Tomorrow I’ll hopefully be doing something really cool at the Downtown Denver Aquarium. I’m going to a program called Marine Biologist for a Day. I really don’t know what we are going to be doing, but I know that we get to go behind the scenes to learn, prepare food, and feed the animals. I hope we get to feed sharks, sea turtles, and sting rays! We are doing lots more I know that for a fact. The thing that sucks is that we don’t get to go in the water.:( Some questions I’ll ask are, “What is it like to be a marine biologist?”, “What schools do I have to go to, to get where you are?”, and “What’s your favorite part about being a marine biologist?”. When my Mom called to sign me up, the guy said that there were already five kids signed up for it. I just hope that some of them are girls!! I really, really hope that the whole experience is as fun as it sounds!:)

My weekend was really fun, I got to spend lots of time with my friends! It started off on Saturday. I was really bored, and I had been wanting to go swimming. I decided to call up some of my friends and see what they were doing. I was trying to think of someone that I haven’t hung out with in awhile. Then it hit me, my friend Sierra. I hadn’t hung out with her since Thanksgiving. We went to the Apex Center and were there for about 3 1/2hrs. We both had a really fun time, but we only got to go down the slide once! I ended up spending the night at her house and in the morning we walked her dog down to the dog park.
Sunday afternoon I noticed that my friend Kylie called and left a message, to see if I wanted to hang out that day. It was a little later in the afternoon, so I called back to see if she wanted to spend the night at my house. Her mom brought her over after she ate dinner, and that night we traded Littlest Pet Shops. We made some pretty good trades. In the morning we started to play tag, and my Mom suggested that we walk to the park. Kylie and I thought it wouldn’t be as fun with two people, so we invited some school friends, Morgan and Spencer. It seemed like I hadn’t talked to them in YEARS. When we all got to the park we started to play groundies ( kind of like tag), it was cool to be with old friends! When we got tried of that we started to prank call people, I think it was pretty funny how some of the people reacted, and before we knew it we had to leave. I know I had a good time and I hope they did too!:D

Tags: 13, Friday, Friday the 13th

Today is Friday the 13th. Some people believe that today is one of the least lucky days of the year. On this day people are very cautious, they try not to step on cracks, walk under ladders, or come across a black cat. I don’t think these people really know how it became one of the unluckiest days. Well, I did some research on what it was really about. According to the church, Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit on a Friday. Some Christians say that Friday was the day of Christs’ death. In the Christian belief, the number 13 was bad luck, because the 13th guest at the Last Supper, Judas, was a traitor. The Scandinavians also believed that the number 13 was bad luck because the 12 demigods, were joined by the cruel and evil one, Loki, who was the 13th. You put the two together and you get, Friday the 13th. I think lots of people were very superstitious hundreds of years ago, and the idea of Friday the 13th just stuck around.
I think I’m having a unlucky day today, because I get to do school work(how fun). Some of my friends don’t even have school and the ones that do, get to have a Valentines party!:(

When you hear fried bananas, you probably think,”Yuk, why would anybody like that?!” Like they say never judge a book by it’s cover, and in this case, don’t judge before you taste. I thought the same thing, but after tasting them you will definitely be begging for more. I found this recipe in an Indonesia book that I’m reading. We might go there, so I thought it would be cool to study.
When I put the banana in my mouth, I had no idea what to expect. It was crunchy and gooey at the same time. I slowly chewed while thinking of all the delicious flavors I was tasting. You have no idea how good they were, it felt like I kept shoving them in my mouth.
In the batter we used flour, water, and salt. We were suppose to put lime zest in, but we didn’t have a lime, so we used orange zest. After we took our bananas out of the oil, we sprinkled brown sugar on top, and served them with orange slices and Cool Whip. When I put mine together, I squeezed some orange on top, and then some Cool Whip. They were really good, my Mom and I both loved them! I think that you should go make some yourself!:) Here’s the recipe from the book!
3/4 cup flour
4 small,ripe bananas
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 to 1 cup of water
1 lime, zested and cut into wedges(we used an orange)
1 cup canola oil for frying
1 tablespoon sugar(we used brown sugar)
- In medium bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add enough water to make a smooth batter that is somewhat thick. Add lime zest and mix well.
- Peel bananas and dip them in the batter two or three times, until well coated. While doing that heat oil to 375 degrees F.
- Place bananas in the oil slowly and carefully. Fry two at a time, spoon and place on paper towels to absorb the oil.
- To serve, arrange bananas on a plate and sprinkle with sugar. Garnish with lime wedges.

I would make a robot that looks and acts like a person. It would do what ever you said, and it could do it as fast as you wanted. If it had a name it would probably be Isabella. She could clean your room, do your homework, and even cook the best meals. She would also have a computer that could play what ever music you want.
My robot would be made of recycled things, from plastic bottles, cans, old clothes, or something that you could find in a dump. Isabella would run on solar energy, just put her in light and up she go’s!:D If she had to be a particular height, I would want her to be the same size as me(5ft 41/2in), so that she could have the same abilities as me. Isabella would be able to talk and act like a real human. She could always make you laugh when you’re sad. What ever you need, whether it’s to cheer you up, or help with chores, Isabella would be there. Hopefully in the future my dream will come true!!

Isn't this AWESOME!!!!
