n starts with Bella’s birthday at the Cullens’ house when she accidentally cuts herself, and Jasper attacked. Edward thought it wasn’t safe for Bella to be around them, so the Cullen family decided to leave Forks. After they left Bella became very depressed and didn’t know what to do with herself. After a few months of not hanging out with her friends, she went out with Jessica and tried to act normal. She kind of went a little crazy and did something that would put herself in danger. Out of no where she starts hearing Edward’s voice and thinks that he’s back, but then realizes that it’s just in her head. It saved her from the danger, and she figured out that when she does something Edward wouldn’t like, the voice comes.
Bella started to hang out with Jacob. One day on her way to see him, she came across these two broken motorcycles. Jacob ends up helping Bella fix them and taught her how to ride. This was their little secret. All the time that she spent with Jacob, helped to get Edward off her mind. They became better friends and Jacob tried to take their relationship farther, but Bella wanted to keep it as friends. A few of Jacob’s friends were acting weird, and they stopped hanging around him. Jacob was getting worried, because he saw his friends go from seeing Sam as part of a bad tribe gang, to them being part of Sam’s group. Then Jacob joins in too, and he doesn’t want to be around Bella anymore. Bella gets angry at Jacob for avoiding her and decides to go to his house. He’s not there so she takes her motorcycle. She takes it to the spot where they practiced and she crashed on purpose, so that she could hear Edward’s voice. When she crashed, she found Laurent waiting for her. Bella figured out that he’s hunting her for Victoria. Victoria is hunting her for revenge of James’ death. A pack of werewolves came from behind and killed him. Later on she finds out that Jacob and his friends were the werewolves that saved her.
Alice came back to Forks worried, because she had a vision that Bella was going to die. She tells Edward, not knowing the truth yet. He feels responsible for her “death” because he’s the one who left her. Edward go’s to the Volturi, to ask them to kill him. Alice and Bella raced to save Edward from killing himself. They end up saving him and Edward promises, to never leave Bella again!
In my opinion, New Moon is mostly about Jacob, the werewolves, and his tribe. It started to get exciting when Laurent came into the story, I started to lean into the book. It was interesting to me that it was more about werewolves and not vampires. I liked Twilight more than New Moon because I don’t think the Cullens’ were in New Moon enough, but they come back in the end and it all starts to make since in the next book, Eclipse. I guess you’ll just have to read Eclipse to figure it out. Coming soon. Book Review on Eclipse!
I just finished reading Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer, a few days ago. I loved the book. It’s really good all the way through, but gets really exciting at the end. It’s about a teenage girl named Bella and a boy named Edward who has a dark secret. They fall in love and Bella doesn’t realize it until one of her close friends, Jacob, tells her the story about Edward’s family. At this point she’s scared as heck, but then she finds out that Edward really loves her also and Edward doesn’t hunt humans. I can’t tell you the whole story, so go out there and read it!
